Sussex Wedding Photographer
Hi, my name is Matt. I’m a Sussex wedding photographer, available for weddings across the UK and abroad.
Your wedding day is more than just a wedding; it’s a coming together of the people closest to you to celebrate one of the biggest days in your life. That’s part of what makes them so incredibly special and why I feel so lucky to be able to document them.
It will be a day full of feelings and emotions and that’s what I love to capture. Relaxed, natural and emotive photography of your unique and individual story. No templates here. The majority of the day I will shoot in a documentary style, blending in with the guests to capture those all-important moments from the inside as they happen without being choreographed. Timeless images that will allow you to relive your wedding day in the years to come and share with future generations.
“Booking Matt was one of the best decisions for our wedding day. He was absolutely incredible throughout and made us feel so comfortable and relaxed. We can’t recommend him enough!”

Head over to My Approach page to read more about my style and how I work.
Whether you’re planning on getting married in Brighton, Sussex or further afield, if you’re looking for relaxed, natural wedding photography and think that I might be a good fit then I’d love to hear about your awesome plans.
Brighton Weddings

Being a wedding photographer in Brighton is a photographer’s dream. I may be biased as I live here but from the quirky lanes to the iconic buildings and seafront it really is an awesome city and an incredible place to celebrate your wedding day. Brighton is packed with so many different styles of venues. If you’re after traditional venues then there’s the iconic Grand Hotel with it’s impressive seafront location and luxurious wedding suites – the perfect way to spend your wedding night, the exotic Royal Pavilion steeped in glorious Regency decor and the recently restored Bandstand – who doesn’t want seaviews as the backdrop to their wedding photographs!
And of course the beauty of Brighton weddings is that you can really make a weekend of it, and many of my couples choose to stay in the City for a few days before or after the wedding day itself to enjoy all the incredible bars and restaurants Brighton has to offer – for some it’s just the lure of having a good old stroll along the seafront.
Brighton’s City streets offer fantastic shopping opportunities and are filled with tourists during the busy summer months but the quirky North Laine always provides the perfect backdrop for intriguing engagement shoots – hidden alleyways, striking graffiti and all the weird and wonderful sights that really capture Brighton’s famous bohemian spirit.
West Sussex Weddings

Are you planning a West Sussex wedding?
One of the main areas that I tend to shoot weddings is in West Sussex. Having grown up there I know the area really well. As with the rest of Sussex you’re spoilt for choice when it comes to choosing a wedding venue. From the stunning waterside ruins of Slaugham Place, to the immaculately tendered flowers and Loggia of Nymans Gardens, Bignor Park and it’s incredible formal gardens. And for couples tempted by romantic barn venue there are Fitzleroi, Grittenham and Cissbury barns, all set against the backdrop of the famed rolling Sussex Downs.
East Sussex Weddings

I’m an East Sussex wedding photographer, based in Brighton. Though, I frequently travel across Sussex and the South East to document weddings. I absolutely love this part of the country for shooting weddings and engagement shoots. From the quirky streets of Brighton to the stunning Sussex countryside, majestic white cliffs that run along the south coast and the incredible beaches at Camber Sands there’s so many unique places to explore.
There are also so many beautiful wedding venues in East Sussex too. Some of my favourites that I’ve worked at include, The Galivant at Camber Sands, Laughton Barns, Milwards Estate, Broyle Place and Swallows Oast.

Relaxed Documentary Wedding Photography
Do you feel nervous about being in front of the camera?
Don’t worry, this is completely normal and the majority of couples feel this way. I even felt the same when it came to my own wedding, especially as I’m so used to being on the other side of the camera.
My photography style is very relaxed and natural; there won’t be any awkward cheesy posing. The majority of your wedding day I will shoot in a documentary style, blending in with the guests to capture those all-important moments as they happen naturally without being choreographed. Timeless images that will allow you to relive your wedding day in the years to come and share with future generations.

Reportage Wedding Photography
Whilst I am mainly a documentary wedding photographer I always like to include some group photos and relaxed portraits (if you want them) of you and your partner. You won’t want to be missing out on spending time enjoying the day with your guests so I tend to suggest a smaller amount of group photos so you’re not standing around ages. The couples that book me tend to go for around 6 – 8 different groups. Likewise with the portraits, we won’t need long to make some awesome portraits of you guys and get you back to the party.
In the lead up to your wedding why not have an engagement shoot? Most couples decide to have an engagement shoot before their big day, as it will give you an idea of what to expect and ease any nerves that you have. Plus it will give you a chance to get some relaxed shots of you and your partner hanging out in a place that’s special to you.

Do you travel for weddings?
The short answer is, yes, absolutely! I love to travel, and alongside photography is one of my biggest passions. I’ve been extremely fortunate over the years to visit a lot of different countries around the world. However, I now feel even more lucky to be able to also travel to document weddings abroad too. There’s nothing more exciting for me than to be able to combine the two of them for a destination wedding. With so many incredible locations a short hop away, more and more couples are looking to go overseas to celebrate their big day. So whether you’re planning a UK or destination wedding I’d love to hear about your exciting plans and hopefully document it for you ;-).

Destination Wedding Photographer
Are you planning a destination wedding?
You might be tempted by the allure of the ‘Big Apple’ with its incredible skyline. New York truly is a special place and like nowhere else I’ve ever been. If you haven’t been there I can’t recommend it enough.
Likewise, we also have some incredible places to celebrate your big day closer to home, such as the stunning Italian countryside and the picturesque Lake Como, which is a hotspot for destination weddings at the moment. Or the beautiful Greek islands, steeped in history and the Greeks sure do know how to throw a party. If you’ve ever travelled there you’ll know what I mean.
Even closer to home, Spain, Portugal & France also have some great options and are really geared up for destination weddings, making the planning a lot easier than you might think. Having celebrated my wedding in Spain I can speak from experience and offer advice if this is something that you’re considering.
If you think that I would be a good fit for your wedding I’d love to hear more about you and how you plan to celebrate your big day.
