DELBURY HALL WEDDING – SOPHIA & TRISTAN
I first met Tristan around 14 years ago when we were both studying photography in Bristol. So absolutely no pressure when he asked me to document his Delbury Hall wedding! Not only is he a mate but also a really good photographer himself. What greater honour is there than being able to document such an important day for a good friend though, so how could I pass it up.
I had only met Soph once before the wedding day, but she was so lovely and welcoming, it literally felt like being with an old friend.
Both the Delbury Hall wedding ceremony and reception were held in the Coach House of a stunning Georgian mansion. Surrounded by the beautiful gardens and Shropshire countryside, it really was a special place to tie the knot.
After the ceremony, we did some family photos followed by some couple shots of Soph and Tristan in the lovely grounds. During which time everyone made their way through what seemed like an endless supply of Champagne. Tristan’s Dad, who is from the Champagne region of France had brought over a van load. What better way is there to get the celebrations started?
The speeches ended just in time for the awesome twilight hour, so we went out to grab a few more night portraits. Getting them back in time before the party really kicked off.
Soph’s side is Greek, so their first dance was followed by a Greek dance and money dance. If you haven’t heard about this tradition before, it is whereby the guests come up and pin money to the bride & groom as they dance to traditional Greek music. It was my first Greek wedding and an awesome experience to be a part of. It was a great way to get the party started. The fun and dancing went on to the early hours.
It is always a privilege to be able to share such a special day with the couples I have had the pleasure of documenting weddings for. This is even more so when it’s for a good friend. Soph & Tristan, I wish you guys all the best for the future.
Here are some of my favourites from their awesome Delbury Hall wedding.
