Eastbourne Wedding Photographer

Hi I’m Matt and I’m an Eastbourne Wedding Photographer.

Based just along the coast in Brighton, I cover all of Sussex and the South of England. Eastbourne is a great town and a perfect location to get married. With the seaside and the quick access into the Sussex Countryside, you really do get the best of both worlds. Just over an hour away from London on the Train – Eastbourne is always popular for London couples who want to get married by the sea, but don’t fancy Brighton.

A Bit About Me

Hi, I’m Matt. I was fortunate enough to have grown up in the Caribbean and now live Brighton with my wife, Lara and and our young daughter, India.

When I’m not shooting weddings, we love travelling, snowboarding, seeing our favourite artists playing live and scouting out the latest the latest restaurants and quirky pop ups that Brighton has to offer.

My style of wedding photography is best described as relaxed and natural, capturing the moments throughout the day as they happened. There won’t be any awkward posing and I won’t have you away from your guests and the party for ages taking photos. The only thing that you need to concentrate on is having the best day of your life and I’ll be there to capture it all.

Eastbourne Wedding Venues

Here are a few of my favourite wedding venues near Eastbourne:

All Saints Chapel, Eastbourne

eastbourne-wedding-photographer-001-2

A great venue, It’s an old church that has been converted into a luxury events space, whilst retaining all it’s original church vibes. All of the visual joy of getting married in a church, without the religious aspects. It’s a truly blank slate that you can imprint your own personalities on.

It’s a huge space that can accommodate big parties with guest lists in the hundreds, with an on-site bar and some nice lawns for those summer evening drinks receptions. It’s conveniently located just outside of the centre of Eastbourne – this is a venue to look at if you’re planning a wedding in Eastbourne. The only drawback to All Saints is that guest parking is in the adjacent streets – so might be worth hiring a bus to ferry your guests around

Blackstocks Estate, Hellingly

Blackstock Barn and Estate in Hellingly, not too far from Eastbourne and a serious venue to consider if you want to immerse yourself in the Sussex countryside for your big day. With various barns, on-site accommodation, acres of lakes and parkland and a menagerie of animals – Blackstock has a lot to offer. Weddings here are particularly stress free, as with the cottages and accommodation on-site, you can get ready and then just walk to your ceremony. There’s plenty of on-site parking for your guests and lots of options for where to spend your day, sipping Pimms with your guests.

Gildrege Manor, Eastbourne

If you’re looking for a luxurious Manor House wedding venue in Eastbourne, you should give Gildrege Manor a look. It’s a fantastic Georgian Manor house Just outside of Eastbourne in the beautiful Gildredge Park. As an exclusive use venue, it’s great for lots of different type of weddings big or small and you can really make the day your own – filled with family, friends and all the things important to you. Recently refurbished (in 2011) it really does have a great mixture of Georgian character and modern convenience.

With ceremonies taking place in the Garden Room, with views of the stunning grounds or the beautifully light and airy Long Gallery you’ll have the most perfect day, before spilling out onto the terrace for drinks – before back in to dance into the night

Folkington Manor

Another beautiful manor house – Folkington Manor is in Polegate, a short drive from Eastbourne. It’s a grand, privately owned country house set within acres of stunning countryside. Available as a dry hire venue – which means you can put your own stamp on it and bring in your own suppliers – it provides the most perfect backdrop to large luxury celebrations and more intimate days. As an exclusive use venue only hosting one event each weekend, you really can make it your own and enjoy a perfect weekend of celebrations. It also has the very handy benefit of being a few hundred yards away from the most beautiful St Peter’s Church.

Firle Place

The most beautiful grounds and location, the moment you arrive on it’s grand drive way – you know you’re somewhere special. From the sheep wandering around, to the manor house which has recently been opened for smaller weddings, to the riding school which gives you the most beautiful, yet flexible venue for a variety of weddings. Firle Place delivers on many levels. Summer weddings might take place in their beautiful gardens, winter weddings inside the riding school – or all year round you can get married at the wonderful St Peter’s Church, just around the corner in the village of Firle.

Montague Farm

A brand new venue being managed by the same people that run Firle Place, Montague Farm is a former pig farm that has been resurrected as a wonderful wedding venue. A selection of gorgeous barns capturing that rustic Sussex charm and set in some gorgeous countryside (The Pevensey Flats), we’ve gone into more detail on Montague Farm over here.
