Montague Farm Wedding Photographer
I was very excited to learn recently about a brand new Sussex wedding venue. We are spoilt for choice when it comes to wedding venues in Sussex but it’s always great when a new venue arrives to shake things up and Montague Farm is going very special and unique place to celebrate your big day.
Set in the East Sussex countryside on the western edge of the Pevensey Levels, the views from here are breathtaking, stretching as far as the eye can see across their own land and marshes to the sea and Pevensey Castle.
I haven’t had the chance to shoot here yet as it is a brand new venue but I am very much looking forward to working here in the future. Below are some images from other popular Sussex barn and countryside wedding venues so that you can get an idea of how I like to work and my style of photography from similar venues.

The Venue
The original 18th century farm buildings have been beautifully restored and renovated to provide a variety of options and spaces to use on your big day. The first is called, Pig Palace, which is a single story barn with original flint walls and a original oak-beamed ceiling. The barn also boasts double front glass doors allowing you to make the most of the countryside views. A beautiful space for an indoor ceremony and/or wedding breakfast.
The second building is called, Big Barn. Converted from its original use as a cattle barn it can fit around 200 guests for your wedding breakfast, so if you’re planning a big wedding then they’ve got you covered. The inside of the building has been cladded in reclaimed wood and to keep with the vintage feel they have also repurposed some old artillery wagon wheels to use as light fixtures that hang from the high ceilings.
Finally, just when you thought that it couldn’t get any better, you have the final building called, The Watering Shed and as you may have guessed, that’s where the bar will be, but not just any bar. This old cabin is full of character, decorated inside with original metal work and dried hops, not to mention the incredible views; it’s a very special and unique area to host your cocktail hour.
The Local Area
If you’re travelling from further afield or just want to get out and explore the local area in the days leading up to your wedding day then there’s lots to see only a stone’s throw away. A few popular spots to visit are the Pevensey Levels Nature Reserve, a beautiful area to go and explore if you enjoy walking in the countryside. Or if history is your thing then there’s also the historic castles of Pevensey and Herstmonceux within a few miles of each other that make a very interesting visit. And of course, being so close to the seaside there’s also the long stretching beaches of Pevensey Bay to take a relaxed stroll and take a dip if you’re brave enough.
If you’re looking for a relaxed Sussex Barn wedding venue packed with character then I recommend checking out Montague Farm for your wedding.
Whether you’re planning a wedding here or at another Sussex venue and looking for relaxed, natural wedding photography I would love to hear about how you plan to celebrate your big day.
