“Wow, they’re great thank you so much!”
Having originally met Danni & Darren briefly at their friend’s Mark & Lisa’s wedding back in 2016 I was super happy when they got in touch when they were planning their own wedding and wanted me to be their photographer for their Wiston House wedding. I love being able to photograph multiple weddings from the same friendship group and seeing so many friendly faces again.
Danni and the girls started their morning prep at Wiston House in a stunning room overlooking the grounds.
Following on from here I left to catch up with Darren and the guys at the lovely, St Andrew’s Church Steyning. Here Danni had surprised Darren by arranging for their beloved French Bulldog to make an appearance. It was such a nice surprise and it really meant a lot to Darren for her to be there and take part in the day.
After a beautiful ceremony, we all made our way back to Wiston House and with Danni & Darren choosing to travel there in style in a Maserati Quattroporte. We wound our way through the beautiful parkland grounds leading up to Wiston House and all of a sudden the stunning 16th-century house appears in the distance, it’s a truly impressive sight.
We arrived at the house with the sun shining and the sound of Steele drums playing in the garden. I was brought up in the Caribbean so it was music to my ears. With the weather as it was and cocktails flowing if you closed your eyes you almost felt like you had been transported there.
From the gardens at the rear of the house, we then moved to the Great Hall, the 16th-century centrepiece of the house. With its high ceilings and beautifully carved woodwork which almost resemble the hull of a boat stretching up above your head, it was a truly special and grand place to have your wedding breakfast.
The manicured gardens of Wiston House are absolutely stunning, so we wanted to take some time to get some portraits there. My particular favourite was the Italian garden with it’s perfectly symmetrically trimmed hedges, gorgeous.
Taking a little bit of time out to make some beautiful, creative portraits is also a great time for you to have a little bit of time for the two of you. We don’t need to take too long, but it also serves as a great time for you to both to be able to take everything in and I know how important it is for couples to spend as much of the day as they can with their friends and family as well so I don’t like to steal you away for too long.
The Indie Killers kicked off the party with some energetic and uptempo classic tracks. A great way to finish what was an awesome day.
